What will the design cost?

Aspen ArtWorks charges for each step as we go through the three design steps.

Aspen ArtWorks - Design Pricing 1, 2, & 3, - The Process – Desiging Pricing One Step at a Time.

1 - DESIGN FEE - STEP ONE - What will the project look like and how much should I budget?

  • This step is sometimes called the due-diligence stage and will allow the owner/client time to decide if they even want to move forward with the project, or to delay the project. Step one also generates the information that is needed for contractor pre-pricing. And pre-approval or comments from community associations, lenders, and town planning departments
  • The design fee for this step is generally 1/3 of the total design fee. And the client has only committed to this fee and step currently. No obligation for step two and step three currently.

2 - DESIGN FEE - STEP TWO - Designing the project with a set of more detailed plans.

  • This step starts to produce a plan package for contractors to understand the details they need to provide the client with a price quote.
  • The design fee for this step is generally 1/3 of the total design fee. And the client has only committed to this fee and step currently. No obligation for step three currently.

3 - DESIGN FEE - STEP THREE – Designing the construction and working plans.

  • This step designs and completes the construction plan set for the contractors, all municipality regulators, supporting engineers, and material suppliers, with standard details, working drawings and details.
  • The design fee for this step is generally 1/3 of the total design fee. And the client has only committed to this fee and step currently. No further obligation.

Aspen ArtWorks has no hourly fee, nothing hidden.

Each of the three steps will be quoted as a fixed guaranteed price separately at the time of the first project price quote. Each step that the client would like to proceed with will be charged and collected prior to the step commencing. Aspen ArtWorks looks at “step one” as something like a down payment for the three-step project and hopes that the client will continue with the additional two steps. (the client is not committed to proceed with all three steps, only one commitment at a time)

Any additional client requests (extras) that are desired by the client at any time throughout the project will be quoted as a fixed guaranteed price and are charged and collected prior to the additional request for the design work being commenced.

The client will always know what they have committed to.
